Ascension Kids

Children are always welcome in our worship service and we encourage them to join us and sing loudly!

If you have a hungry or fussy baby, we invite you to use our Living Room located close to the back of the chapel. There is an audio feed of the service. This room is for mothers only during the service.

(Every childcare volunteer has been trained and background checked.)

 FAQs

  • We encourage parents to drop off their children 5-10 minutes before the service begins so that you still have time to grab a coffee and fellowship. Running late? That’s fine too.

Our check-in station is in the front lobby of the church, and all our volunteers are in the classroom at least 15 minutes before the service starts.

  • All volunteers who serve in our children’s ministry have passed a background check before they can be scheduled to serve.

Our policy is to have two volunteers leading and serving in each class.

  • We know it can be scary for a child to go into a new environment without mom or dad. Please feel free to play with your child for a few minutes in the classroom to help them get more adjusted before you go to the service.

Don’t worry, most children pivot quickly to enjoying the class after you leave, and if they continue to fuss, we’ll come and check in with you.

  • We will come get you if your child has been crying for 10 minutes. Of course, your child is more than welcome to stay in the class but often our parents want to know if their child is having a rough time.

  • All children are always welcome in our service! We also have a mother’s room with a live sermon feed across the hall from the sanctuary.

  • All children are welcome in our classes at Ascension. It is helpful for us to know if your child has any special needs so that we can make their time at church a safe and enjoyable time. Please contact our children’s ministry intern, Lily, to discuss this further and make a plan for this Sunday! (Lily@ascensionphx.org).

  • Our kids ministry is reliant on volunteers and we are always looking for more! Please reach out to our children’s ministry intern, Lily, if you are interested! (lily@ascensionphx.org)
